The endless plains of the Serengeti, the sparkle of Lake Manyara and the vast, plummeting depth of the Ngorongoro Crater – all this can be yours to experience on this tour.Lake Manyara is an absolutely beautiful national park. En route to or from the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, this small but perfectly formed park is the perfect place to start your safari and introduce you to the beauty and wonder of Tanzania. The landscape here is varied, with the dense woodland unexpectedly opening up into pockets of clearings, where elephant, giraffe, buffalo, wildebeest and warthog can be found.
Derived from the Masai word “siringet”, meaning endless plain, the Serengeti is a simply phenomenal wildlife reserve. The scene of so much wildlife drama, from the birth of the smallest lion cub to the migration of millions of plains game during the great migration, this national park often tops the wishlist of many safari-goers. A great place for spotting big cats and the “Big Five”!
The Ngorongoro Crater will astound you with the diversity of landscape, rich and fertile beauty, and concentration of wildlife. This volcanic caldera (formed from a collapsed volcano) has 2000ft high walls which, understandably, inhibit migration in and out of the crater. Spotting wild creatures here amongst the lakes, craters and verdant vegetation is a truly wonderful experience - as is taking a guided walk at the rim of the crater itself. Expect to see monkeys, birds and perhaps even something a little bigger!
The roar of the lion
The Lake Manyara Serena Lodge is a truly lovely place to stay. The most striking aspect of the lodge is without doubt the fabulous infinity pool, which seems to simply drop off the horizon into the wilderness below! Enjoying a dip here in the afternoon sun, appreciating the amazing view which extends out below you, is a really singular safari experience. At the Serengeti you will spend two exciting nights at the Mapito Tented Camp. A beacon of comfort and hospitality in the heart of the wilderness, this luxury camp offers an authentic safari experience (expect to hear lions roaring as you nod off at night) without compromising on hospitality or comfort.
Your accommodation at the Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge will be breathtaking from start to finish. Perching right on the rim of the crater, the Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge affords amazing views from virtually all communal areas and guest rooms. Whether you are glancing out of your window at morning's first light, enjoying an afternoon tea in the lobby, or gazing out to the sunset as you enjoy a delicious meal in the dining room, the view of the crater will amaze you time and time again.
