Safari Adventure and Beach Relaxation

This comprehensive tour combines the best of both worlds and takes you from Tanzania's lush countryside, to the sparkling Lake Manyara with its tree-climbing lions, on to the wondrous Ngorongoro Crater, and finally to the exotic island of Zanzibar.

After a good night's rest in Arusha, enjoying the views of the dramatic Mount Meru and the imposing Kilimanjaro and breathing in the fresh country air, you will be whisked away in one of our private safari vehicles to Lake Manyara.  Here, you will delight at the natural beauty which surrounds you, and perhaps even marvel at the bizarre tree-climbing habits of the famous Manyara lions!  Such an experience could never be replicated anywhere else.

You will then move on to the dramatically different yet equally stunning Ngorongoro Conservation Area.  The concentration of wildlife at the crater bottom is due to the 2000 ft high walls of the crater, which inhibit movement in and out of the area.  The sheer density of wildlife here is amazing, and with a bit of luck the "Big Five" can be spotted on just one single game drive!

After your safari adventure you will transfer to the exotic spice island of Zanzibar, where the explosion of Arabic, European and African culture over the years has clashed and melded to create a truly unique place.  As well as enjoying the endless beaches, azure waters, golden sunshine, balmy breezes and blue skies, you will also spend one day taking in the minarets, studded doors and coral buildings of Zanzibar's fabled old town.  You will also enjoy a spice tour of the famous spice plantations, once the economic backbone of the island, and take a sumptuous lunch at our Spice Restaurant.

From Rugged Wilderness to Unbridled Luxury

Your introduction to Tanzania will come in the form of the absolutely delightful Rivertrees Country House, in Arusha's lush, fresh countryside.  After your safari briefing from one of our representatives, you will have time to enjoy the acres of garden surrounding the property, and perhaps even wander to the banks of the Usa River which flows through the grounds, spotting birds along the way.

Kirurumu Tented Camp, meanwhile, offers an authentic safari experience in the heart of the wilderness.  Guests can enjoy guided walks in the beautiful surroundings, taking in the rugged African bush, and return to a sumptuous meal, a glass of chilled wine, panoramic views, a comfortable bed with fine linens and quality furnishings.

Continuing on to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, you will enjoy dramatic panoramic views from the Sopa Lodge, perching on the very rim of the crater.  You will be faced with these utterly amazing views as soon as you enter the lodge, and will be able to enjoy a sundowner over the crater from the lounge or restaurant.

Finally, after your wildlife adventure in some of Tanzania's most wonderful national parks, you will relax at the five-star beach resort of Kiwengwa's Ocean Paradise, on the north-eastern coast of Zanzibar.  You can do as much or as little as you wish here - trying out the water sports, playing billiards or table tennis, exploring the beaches, or simply enjoying a cold drink and an afternoon snack by the pool, taking a swim in the ocean or reading a book in the comfortable shade.
