Location: Serengeti Ecosystem

Ikoma Bush Camp is a tented camp in the midst of the vast Tanzanian savannah, nestling in an acacia grove, offering simplicity, comfort and a rustic feel. It is ideally situated along the path of the migrating wildebeest between Kenya and Tanzania, and borders the Serengeti National Park.

There are 31 semi-luxury Meru tents at Ikoma Bush Camp. Each tent is under a thatched roof and features en suite bathroom facilities, modern furnishings and private veranda from which guests can enjoy the views of the surrounding plains.

At the central restaurant and bar area there is a large campfire, lit each night, which is the perfect place to relax with a drink and exchange safari stories with the other guests.

Activities at Ikoma include night-time game drives (possible since the camp is located just outside the national park borders), guided nature walks, bush breakfasts and sundowners.

"Simple lodgings with great staff"

The best thing about this camp is the staff who are all really friendly. The rooms are very spacious with expansive views of the Serengeti. The Flintstone style bathrooms are simple however the hot water service was not reliable. The dining room is quite basic and open (with the occassional bats) but the food was tasty and healthy- their soups are great and they cook breakfast eggs anyway you request. They offer additional activities and the night game drive is worth the experience- our guide Humphrey was great. Overall a good place to stay for simple accommodation and friendly service.
