Bougainvillea Safari Lodge

Bougainvillea Lodge is a delightful and charming establishment, situated on the outskirts of Karatu town.  Karatu is perfectly located for visiting Lake Manyara and the Ngorongoro Conservation Areas.

There are currently 24 cottage-style rooms at Bougainvillea Lodge.  Each is very cosy, featuring large and comfortable double or king-size beds (complete with mosquito netting), a fireplace, bathroom with shower, and a veranda where guests can relax and enjoy the lodge’s lush and verdant tropical gardens.

The cottages all surround a large outdoor swimming pool.  There is a large communal area where one can find reception, lounge, bar, gift shop and the dining rooms.

Dining at Bougainvillea lodge is a fresh and satisfying experience.  Fresh produce such as vegetables, fruits, eggs, meats and dairy products are all sourced locally, ensuring not only that food is fresh, but also that the local community benefits.  Breakfast is cereal with seasonal fruits, served with tea and coffee, followed by your choice of cooked breakfast dish.  Lunch is served buffet style, or you will be provided with a hearty lunch box if you plan on being out for the day.  Dinner is five-course, featuring starter, soup, main course (accompanied always by fresh vegetables), garden salad and dessert.  

Activities which can be enjoyed in the vicinity include game driving, bird watching, swimming and walking.
