Three of the best
With this tour you'll inhale the clear mountain air at Mount Kenya National Park, marvel at the birds of prey at Lake Naivasha, and spot lions, cheetahs and elephants at Masai Mara. This tour truly provides the opportunity to see animals from across Kenya's wide spectrum. Mount Kenya and it's foothills provide an astounding range of habitats, inhabited by anything from the huge African elphant to it's somewhat smaller prehistoric relative, the rodent-like tree hyrax.
Lake Naivasha, being one of only two freshwater lakes in the Rift Valley group, attracts many birds who come to feast on the lake's fish. You're likely to spot Great White Pelicans, diving under the water and emerging with bills brimming with fish. You might spot a fish eagle swooping from the highest treetop to pluck a fish from the lake, or even from the beak of another unfortunate bird! All of this against the backdrop of hippos lazing on the shore...it really is spectacular viewing.
On the seemingly endless plains of the Masai Mara roam millions of fantastic beasts. Being the site of the annual Great Migration, this reserve is home to thousands upon thousands of wildebeest, gazelle and zebra who, in their attempt to find the best grazing, are hotly pursued by lions and leopards as they make their annual journey. The other three members of the “Big Five” - the rhino, the elephant and the African buffalo – are all to be found here, along with cheetahs, warthogs, vultures and more.
Rest and recuperate in the heart of nature
The Mount Kenya Serena Mountain Lodge, situated in the ancient forests of the magnificent mountain after which the country was named, is the height of luxury in the heart of nature. Here, you can watch buffalo and elephant at the saltlick before taking dinner at the canopy-level dining room and retiring to your private balcony with a glass of wine. The Naivasha Sopa Lodge maintains these high standards with cottages nestling in rock gardens and bright flowers, and all the amenities of a 5-star establishment. The Mara Serena Safari Lodge, where you'll spend your final nights, is built in an almost Masai fashion, with a set of delightful roung cottages lined along a hill. The views from the rooms are spectacular. This private tour is completely customisable - you can change the duration, where you visit and the hotels you stay in - just let us know what you'd like to change when you get in touch with us.
