Amboseli National Reserve

Amboseli National Reserve (formerly Amboseli National Park), is a wildlife wonderland, famous for being the best place to get close to free-ranging elephants in all of Africa. Located at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa, the Amboseli National Reserve lies before one of the most beautiful backdrops on earth – the snowcapped Mount Kilimanjaro.

The various species of game animals that live on the reserve are sustained by watering places that come from the melting snows of Kilimanjaro, creating a harmonious union between the wildlife and the mountain. This glorious combination of attractions make a safari to Amboseli National Reserve an experience like no other.

There are estimated to be around 650 elephants on Amboseli National Reserve – the most of any of Kenya's parks and reserves. For elephant enthusiasts, the close range view and vast number of elephants are a wonderful highlight to this safari expedition. Other animals commonly seen are antelopes, buffalos, gazelles, gerenuks, giraffes, hippopotami, wildebeest, and zebras. It is also not uncommon to see the people of the Maasai tribe living in harmony with the wildlife around them.
