The Treetops overlooks two waterholes and a salt lick, both of which attract a great variety of animals. On clear days you can even see the snowy peaks of Mount Kenya. The lodge boasts two photographic hides at ground level - a great way to get up close shots of unsuspecting rhinos, elephants, bucks or even lions. It has 4 decks and a rooftop-viewing platform.
Treetops Lodge is also famous for its historical royal connection. One afternoon in February of 1952, a young English girl climbed the fig tree as a Princess. The following morning, she descended as Queen Elizabeth II - her father, King George VI, had died in the night.
With the focus being game viewing the features are simple and the dining area sociable with bench seating. Treetops has 50 simple, cot-like rooms, designed like cabins on board a ship, which have open balconies for viewing and photography, and plentiful shared toilet and shower facilities. There's even the option to be woken by an experienced hunter if one of the "Big Five" (lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard or rhino) visits during the night!
Coffee and liqueurs are served in the comfortable lounge, which features picture windows and trees growing through the building.

Reviews & Testimonials of Treetops Lodge
"Wow!"
i planned a trip to kenya for our first wedding anniversary, treetops was what i was most looking forwards to, Leaving Samburu and driving south 220km to Aberdares and taking lunch at Outspan hotel before heading up to treetops, the staff greeted us and took our bags and safely stored them as a ruck sack is all you can take to treetops, lunch was very lovely, they had a bbq, and plenty of other things to chose from, all the staff were very welcoming and helpful, after lunch some tribes people put on a show, showing us there houses trying some of there food, my husband took part in a tribe dance, it was very enjoyable. after we were taken up to treetops wow!!!!!! was our first thought!!!!! they let you out to walk up to the lodge which was fantastic, there are lots of steps to the lodge as its on stilts but the view is amazing!!!! the rooms have 2 signal beds and is quite small but at the bottom of your feet you have each a large window just awesome!!! we all share bathrooms but it really wasn't a hassle at all there plenty of them, dinner was amazing 6 course wow wee!! in the even the elephants came which was right up close as your on stilts standing in the water whole! they were brilliant in our rooms there is a bell that goes off if animals come in the night
but u can turn it off! the guides were brilliant too very helpful and one of them had wrote a book he had put together him self, it is very good!! all in all i would say every one should go visit!! when we were there in feb there was no water in the watering whole but it didnt matter as there was plenty to see just to note we loved our visit 100% happy
