Shimba Lodge

Shimba Hills Lodge is built in the style of a tree house, blending perfectly with the lush forest vegetation surrounding it.  In an area populated with rare animals, nestling amongst the trees with wildlife scampering before your very eyes, a night at this establishment is a truly different, utterly unique experience.  

The lodge can accommodate up to 65 people, with those staying in triple and double rooms having shared (but plentiful) bathroom facilities.  Guests staying in suites will have their own bathroom and living area.

Shimba Hills is home to the extremely rare and striking sable antelope.  Animals commonly seen in the lodge grounds include red squirrels, bus babies, colobus monkeys, baboons, buffalo and elephants.  Some of the smaller creatures might even find their way up to the open-fronted dining room!  Extensive walkways into the forest afford guests some moments of utter tranquillity.  There is a floodlit waterhole, and if desired you can have a guide wake you up should some interesting wildlife come to drink in the night.
