Location: Lake Nakuru
This exotic park boasts a rich concentration of wildlife including over 400 species of bird, 50 of which can be seen within the grounds alone! It is the perfect place to experience one of the world's largest ornithological spectacles - the Pink Flamingo, which gather in their thousands turning the shoreline pink. The park itself is also a famous rhino sanctuary, so you're likely to spot Black Rhinos hiding in the bush, and larger White Rhinos cropping the grass along the lakeside. Nowhere else can you snap a photo of one of these fantastic beats, backed by a mirage of a thousand pastel pink Flamingos on an ancient shimmering soda lake!
The hotel has 64-chalet style rooms with private shower and WC, mosquito nets, and private verandah with panoramic views of the flamingo pink-rimmed lake. The Ziwa Suite has two bedrooms and an open fireplace, and is also used as the Honeymoon Suite. The Chui Suite and the Fara Suite each have one bedroom plus a separate lounge.

Reviews & Testimonials of Lion Hill Lodge
"wonderful place"
According to 2001 figures Nakuru outstrips Maasai Mara in tourist arrivals . Most people come here for a day to see flamingoes which is a pity as for a small sanctuary , Nakuru packs quite a punch . You can see everything except elephants . Lion hill Lodge is actually situated on a hill with prominent lion caves but hakuna matata , the place is very secure even though your eyes flick up to the lion cave every time you enter / leave the property .
I do not understand why an issue is being made out about " lake views " . It is immaterial as you would go to the Baboon cliff anyway . The rooms and food are remarkably good . The staff very cheerful and helping . No complaints at all . Do not miss the 7 PM cultural show as it is great fun and you can shake a leg too , to the beat of African drums and other amazing traditional instuments .

"A beautiful site close to the wildlife"
We stayed here on our second night, after staying at Mt. Kenya. Part of the drive between the two sites is pretty bone jarring. Once you get to the Lake Nakuru area, though, everything is beautiful and relaxing. There are lots of monkeys, zebras and other animals on the drive to the hotel, which overlooks the flamingo covered lake, although it's quite far away. The hotel is up in the hills, and it's a beautiful spot with LOTS of beautiful birds, great food well presented, a nice pool (although the water was cold), and very spacious rooms (two per bungalow). They also had an impressive dance troop in the evening. The drive down to the lake is only about ten minutes. A great place in a great location! Perfect if you want to see rhinos, flamingos, pelicans, and, in more normal numbers, everything else.SalamatJalan from Alexandria, Egypt
