The Samburu Sopa Lodge is built on slightly elevated ground, allowing for panoramic views of the Samburu hills on one side and the magnificent Mount Kenya on the other. With airy and spacious communal areas, rooms with private verandas and a lobby with watering hole vista, each moment of your stay at this lodge will be exciting and new.The accommodation here is laid out in thirty cottages, each of which is designed to blend in with the stunning natural surroundings by adopting the style of the indigenous Samburu people. Every cottage is divided into two tastefully appointed guest bedrooms, each boasting two queen-size beds, shower and private veranda with view of the plains. The rooms have high ceilings to keep the rooms airy and comfortable, and the décor is distinctly Samburu-inspired, with natural materials offset with bold and bright colours.
Just adjacent to the lobby lies the bar – a large and open space with comfortable chairs and large tables clustered in groups. This is the perfect place to enjoy an intimate nightcap or an afternoon cup of tea. The dining room, where one can enjoy cooked and continental breakfast options and a range of international dishes at the buffet dinner, is adjacent to the bar.

Reviews & Testimonials of Samburu Sopa Lodge
"I throughly enjoyed my stay"
I was part of a group of Travel Agents visiting Kenya. We stayed at the Samburu Sopa Lodge for 2 nights. The location of the lodge is inside the Samburu national park. The rooms of the Lodge are fantastic and the restaurant has great views. The hotel also features a waterhole which can viewed from your rooms or the restaurant. We were lucky to see a leopard, some Oryx, 2 elephants on the waterhole during our stay. The food is servered is fantastic as well. The Staff at the lodge are very humble and very very helpful. The Swimming pool of the hotel might need some clean up. But the views from the pool are also magnicient.
I throughly enjoyed my stay and i recommed this hotel. Specially if you are an Indian the food available if very very good. Just put in a request with the hotel and they will arrange it for you.

"I found the food and ambience to be excellent"
It had been a long drive. The road into Samburu is still poor compared with British standard of roads. We were greated with a drink and towels and quickly escorted to our rooms. These are unique based in style on a Samburu village, however the size of our room was about 6x that of a village house sleeping several. The room was cool as it had a very good ventilation system with gauze over all openings so mossies could not get in. Staff were friendly and very accomodating, unfortunately there were not many people staying, 19 one night 10 the next. I don't know why as I found the food and ambience to be excellent. The first night a lion, leopard and several other animals came to the water hole as we ate dinner. My son was so miffed as he had gone to bed we had to spend the whole day looking for more leopards, which we eventually did, not as close as the loepard who returned to the water hole that evening!!!! It was quite aweinspiring to see these animals without fences between you and it, now you know why they escort you to your rooms. Electricity is limited, however I consider that to be ecotourism, just charge batteries when you know its on.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and reccomend it highly.
