The Peponi Hotel is situated on the fascinating historic island of Lamu.  From relaxation to snorkelling at Manda Toto reef, from renowned cuisine to sunset sailing on a dhow, guests will find their perfect holiday activity at Peponi.

Rooms at Peponi are divided into Superior and Standard rooms.  All 24 guest rooms offer ocean views and feature overhead fans, mosquito nets, showers, fresh flowers and personal safes.  Superior rooms are larger and offer private outdoor areas with comfortable swing bed.

Cuisine at Peponi is often recognised as some of the best in East Africa.  Offering everything from the freshest seafood to hand-prepared sushi to local Swahili dishes, each meal at Peponi is a culinary delight in an absolutely stunning setting.  Peponi's bar is well-stocked, fabulously located and, most importantly, relaxed.  During the day you can enjoy a fresh juice or cold beer, and in the evening you can try an “Old Pal,” the signature cocktail, courtesy of bar manager Charles.

The lush gardens at Peponi, with various palms and tropical plants, provide the surrounds to the beautiful free form swimming pool.  Here, you can cool off in the water under the shade of the giant baobab trees, catch the scent of tropical flowers on the breeze and absorb the ocean view.

As well as being stunningly beautiful, with stretches of deserted white beach and calm blue waters, the beach at Peponi is a great place for one of the many water-based activities on offer.  A moonlight dhow cruise is a special experience, even more so if you decide to take a meal and dine under the night sky.  You can try a spot of fishing from Peponi's deep sea fishing boat, “Little Toot,” ocean fishing with a hotel speedboat, or line fishing from a dhow.  The snorkelling in this part of Africa is amongst the best in the world, and competent instructors can take you wind-surfing, sailing, wake-boarding, body-boarding and water-skiing.  Kayaking on from the beach is great fun, and a wonderful introduction for those who are new to the world of water sports.
