With a spectacular setting in the Chyulu Hills and a thriving community conservation program (contributed to by all guests,) Ol Donyo Waus can help realised your African dream without compromising on ethics.The accommodation is set out in a series of suites and villas, dotted along the verdant hills. The Asali Suite is a one-bedroom suite with en suite bathroom boasting indoor and outdoor shower, a private viewing deck and waterhole view. The Mpya Suite feature one large bedroom, en suite bathroom, indoor and outdoor shower and sundowner viewing deck with “star-bed.”
The Sambu Villa is ideal for families or large groups. This bush home has two bedrooms (each with en suite bathroom, indoor and outdoor shower, “star-bed” and private viewing deck) and private swimming pool. Sambu automatically comes with personal vehicle and guide. A private chef is also available to request in advance, and may incur an extra cost.
The Sirra Villa, Nyati Villa and El Mau Villas all consist of two suites linked by an outdoor foyer, which serve as the focus points of the houses. The design and layout is perfect for two couples of families travelling together, who wish to share living and dining facilities whilst maintaining the benefit of seclusion and privacy. Each suite boasts en suite bathrooms with indoor and outdoor shower, and private viewing deck. Two couples travelling together or a families automatically receive a complimentary private vehicle and guide.
From Ol Donyo Waus' beautiful main dining and living area, one is immediately greeted by breathtaking views of the open plains below and Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance. With flowing spaces constructed from stone, thatch and wood, and the light from a glowing fireplace glancing off iron chandeliers and brass sculptures, relaxing here is a truly sensuous experience...especially whilst sipping a fine wine or ice cold beer!
Further down the hillside is the infinity pool, with pool lounge and dining area, all of which overlook the watering hole. This is a delightful place to while away a hot afternoon or balmy evening.
Activities at Ol Donyo Wuas are myriad and exciting. Game drives in the 275,000 acres of conservancy, viewing elephants up close and personal from the thrilling Log-jam Hide, horse-riding on one of 20 horses or mountain-biking on the plains and hiking are just some of exhilarating activities on offer. You can also take a picnic in the bush, visit a Masai village or simply enjoy a massage at the spa.
