Location: Amboseli
Ol Tukai Lodge is a truly magical establishment, situated on the edge of a lush acacia forest with the vast, endless plains of Amboseli extending out on the other side.Ol Tukai offers 80 chalet-style rooms, either twin or double. The furniture is of the highest quality, with large and comfortable beds, coffee table and chairs and luxuriously appointed bathrooms. Décor is comfortable and elegant with bursts of bright colour offering a contemporary African twist. The delightful patio seating on the private veranda is a cozy place to enjoy a drink, stargaze or even spot a herd of free-ranging elephants wandering in the distance.
For the executive traveller, or perhaps a larger group or family travelling together, the Kibo Villa is a three-bedroom log cabin offering the ultimate in privacy and serenity. Kibo is built from stone and gum tree, blending harmoniously with its beautiful surroundings of tall trees and lush lawns. All bedrooms are en suite, with the master bedroom even opening onto a rooftop terrace with outdoor Jacuzzi. From here, the views of Amboseli and Kilimanjaro are utterly stunning. With a lounge, dining room and kitchen, guests can self cater if they wish, or be catered. Guests are welcome to use all lodge facilities.
The communal areas at Ol Tukai continue the eclectic African theme. Intriguing artefacts, unusual pieces of furniture and a daring mix of neutral wood and bold prints make the entrance lounge a fabulous place to enjoy a cold beer or an afternoon coffee.
The large dining room features an intricate sisal tapestry depicting Masai people, which was carefully crafted by a local artist. This room opens into a large outdoor veranda, where lunch is usually taken.
The Elephant Bar, situated between the lounge and dining room, offers a wide selection of wines, beers, spirits, soft drinks and juices, all under the bright African sky. Above the bar itself, the roof level deck offers panoramic views of the lush marshlands and the glorious Mount Kilimanjaro.
The large outdoor swimming pool is the ultimate place to cool off, perhaps after a morning game drive, and the Pool Bar is the perfect place to grab a cool drink or a snack between meals.
Activities at Ol Tukai include game drives, bird walks and swimming in the pool. Guests can also enjoy Masai singing and dancing, and regular lectures from Elephant Research experts.
Children are welcome at Ol Tukai, with most rooms being big enough to accommodate an extra bed. Children can choose a dish from the children's menu and take an early supper if desired, and security guards are always on patrol so parents can enjoy a later dinner without worrying.
Other miscellaneous services include conference facilities, multi-denominational chapel, curio shop, telephone and fax services, medical clinic and bureau de change.

Reviews & Testimonials of Ol Tukai Lodge
"Excellent location in Amboseli. Dont miss Amboseli and the legendary Kilimanjaro!”"
This is the best located hotel in Amboseli. You are in the center of the park!! The serena group hotel is at the end of the park which makes it harder to get to the core areas very early in the morning.
Early mornings are the best time to see action in the gaming areas. Kilimanjaro is visible mostly in the mornins, not after 11am though. This hotel is spectacular, and its location (a wired fence between you and the wild) is the most exciting I have been to in Kenya.
You can hear lions and hyenas and wilderbeasts all making noises at night. The rooms are old, the service a bit slow. We had a bit of a problem with vegetarian menus. The beds were big and very comfortable. We saw 24 lions, 4 cheetahs, 1 leopard and millions of wilderbeasts in 1 day. And ofcourse the top of Kilimanjaro that made it all so special.
Amboseli National Park is dry and flat. It allows you to see more lions, even from a far distance. The sunset was breath taking. Havent seen the sun touch the horizon without water anywhere else. We had a great time at Ol Tukai Lodge. Would definately recommend anyone to go stay there.

"Best place to stay in Amboseli"
Great place, friendly staff, clean rooms, good food. I was pleasantly surprised to pay 30Ksh for a soda and 200ksh for a beer. I was expecting the kind of charges "famous" kenyan hotels have at their bars (see mount kenya safari club and forty thieves).
I was with my wife and six month old son and i'm sure he was delighted with the pleasant staff who went out of his way to try and prepare something for him to eat. The rooms are a bit dark inside I think due to the dark floor and walls (but you dont go to amboseli to stay in the rooms!) The pool deck is excellent with a view of elephants and Kilimanjaro. Keep it up, stay competitive and we will be back.
