Ol Pejeta House
Location: Sweetwaters
Once the home of multi-millionaire Adnan Khashoggi, Ol Pejeta House is now a stunning accommodation in a supremely tranquil location where each guest can appreciate the fine finishing touches and experience the life of a millionaire, if only for a few days.A shining beacon of farm-house hospitality and unbridled luxury in the heart of the Ol Pejeta private conservancy, Ol Pejeta House consists of six rooms only, each as fine and elegant as the next. The two superior guests rooms feature huge hardwood beds in beautiful bedrooms, with dressing rooms, separate living area and luxuriously appointed en suite bathrooms. The two standard guest rooms boast supremely comfortable double beds, en suite bathrooms and large terrace overlooking the perfectly manicured lawns. The Buffalo cottage is a separate building which has two deluxe bedrooms branching off from a central living area, which has a beautiful open fireplace in the centre of the delightfully cozy room. Each of the rooms at Ol Pejeta House are decorated individually, with intriguing art work and subtle styles, all of which are distinctly African.
There are two outdoor pools at Ol Pejeta House, either of which can be used by any guest. The larger of the two pool is set amongst the rolling green lawns, where monkeys can be seen gambolling playfully – an exciting addition to an afternoon dip!
The feeling of serenity and elegance is continued throughout Ol Pejeta's communal areas. The long ground floor terrace, extending from the front of the lounge to the dining room, is furnished with comfortable chairs and dark, hardwood tables, where guests can enjoy teas and coffees in the afternoon. The lounge features large chairs and sofas with deep, luxurious soft furnishings, from which any guest will enjoy the view of the gardens and surrounding landscape through the large windows, or the many original art pieces hanging on the walls.
Breakfast at Ol Pejeta is usually served on the outdoor dining veranda, whist lunch and dinner are normally served indoors in the long dining room. The dining room still retains many unique original features from the days when it was home to a millionaire, such as an intriguing set of wall brackets and pulleys, originally used for moving dishes the whole length of the room, from the kitchen serving hatch to the head table. Due to the small number of guests, all meals at Ol Pejeta House are prepared to order.

Reviews & Testimonials of Ol Pejeta House
"What a place!"
I recently stayed at Ol Pejeta House. I was supposed to be at Sweetwaters for 2 nights, but was upgraded to the House the second night. I stayed in Mrs. Khashoggi's room upstairs. it was beautiful, with separate sitting area, a 12 x 12 foot bed, beautiful long porch all to myself and a bathing/dressing room that was gigantic. The staff at the house were extremely friendly. I could not believe when one woman slung my 50 pound bag on one shoulder and picked up my other 20 pound bag and toted them up the flight of stairs. There was only one other couple staying there when I did. Our meals were in the beautiful dining area and the selections were well prepared. Although I really liked the watering hole at Sweetwaters, this was a real treat.Laurena from Michigan
"great location"
Stayed there for 2 nights, our second lodge (others Samburu Serena Lodge (3), Lake Nakuru Lodge (2), Masai Mara Serena Lodge (3) - see reports) after arrival in Nairobi coming in from Europe, whenever available we took the highest category of rooms offered; the Ol Pejeta once was home of millionaires. Nowadays it's in the Serena hotel group. in the main building 4 rooms, each huge, with the biggest the Mrs. Kashoggi room.
There are two more rooms in a modern building about 70 yards away, so 6 rooms only. Great location, spacious rooms, 2 pools, pond attracts wild animals, had elephant for breakfast ;-) , excellent staff, thanks Walter for the very personal service; a VERY quiet place, the second night we were the only guests; we were also offered a free night-safari-drive; great place !
