Combining comfort with adventure, relaxation with excitement and luxury with rugged surrounds, the Fairmount Mount Kenya Safari Club is a fabulous resort of 120 well-appointed rooms, in over 100 acres of lush gardens. With patrons including Winston Churchill, Bing Crosby and the club's illustrious founder William Holden, you'll feel every inch the VIP at this establishment.The accommodation consists of Fairmont and deluxe rooms, Suites and Cottages. All rooms feature fire places, in-room safes, a fully stocked mini-bar, tea and coffee facilities and en suite bathroom with rainfall shower. Suites have separate lounges, private veranda or balcony and a spacious bathroom with rainfall shower and bath. All guests will be provided with toiletries, fresh towels, bathrobes, water flasks and drinking water.
Dining at the Safari Club is an elegant yet relaxed affair. The Trophy Lounge is stylish and lavishly furnished with antique chests, weathered Chesterfield sofas and game trophies. Large French doors open out onto the terrace, where guests can enjoy gazing at Mount Kenya with or without the assistance of the fixed telescope. Afternoon tea and coffee is also served here, along with cocktails from the fabulous Mountain View Bar. For something a different, try the stylish and spacious Zebar lounge, which exactly straddles the equator.
Recreational activities include swimming in the heated outdoor pool (with pool bar serving light snacks and refreshments), a round on the 9-hole golf course, exploring the maze, mountain-biking, hiking, horseback riding, boules and croquet. Game drives in Aberdares and Sweetwaters are available for animal lovers, along with camel trekking safaris and bird and nature walks.
