Reviews & Testimonials of Masai Mara Sopa Lodge
"Pleasant lodge"
The lodge is lovely, with a spectacular bar area with a log fire in the evenings and an equally impressive dining room, decorated with Masai paintings on the walls. The rooms were round huts split into two rooms. They looked great, were a good size and the bathroom was nice with a good shower. It’s worth noting that electricity and hot water were only available at certain hours, but this was never an issue for us, as it’s generally off during the times when you are off on safari and there is electricity all night. The main negative of the rooms was that you could hear quite distinctly the conversations in the adjoining room, perhaps due to the high roofs and wooden ceilings.
Both evenings we were back too late to see the feeding of the bush babies, but we did go out at 10pm to watch the animal feeding, which was a real bonus, as we got to see hyena, mongoose, jackals and giant forest hogs over the two evenings.
It’s worth mentioning the location of the Mara Sopa lodge. It’s just inside the reserve gates and is a long way from the Mara River. We ended up paying for an extra long game drive, so that we could stay out long enough to drive down to the river to see crocodiles and hippos, otherwise we wouldn’t have been able to get there – and in the migration season, that’s one place you are expecting to go to.

"Awesome exerience even though only a one night stay.”"
I loved this hotel. The king size bed was incredible. The food was also amazing with perch from the nile, and lamb with mint sauce. We loved the fire at night, and excitedly watched the hyena feeding (where we also seen an angry moongoose and a gold bat) All in all a great place, and would have loved to have stayed longer.uniquenames from Ontario, Canada
