Mara Safari Club
Location: Masai Mara
Nestling in a curve of the Mara River, lying in the very heart of the wondrous Masai Mara National Reserve, is the Fairmont Mara Safari Club. From the Masai to the modern, every aspect of this lodge ensure you will be in the heart of nature without compromising on luxury or comfort. There are a total of 50 tents at the Mara Safari Club, all with four-poster bed, en suite bathing facilities and private decking out front. Décor is comfortable and elegant, with dark wooden furnishings complemented by hand-woven rugs and poster-bed drapes. You will also be provided with water flasks and glasses, insecticide, flash-light and umbrella.
The main lodge building, comprising of a lounge, bar, dining room and library, affords delightful views over the river. The Dining Room is a melange of dark wood, brown leather and sparkling glass, where you will enjoy European, Asian and of course African dishes. All dishes are prepared using fresh Kenyan produce. Breakfast and lunch are both buffet style, whilst dinner is Table D'Hôte.
In the lounge bar you will find deep red suede and animal print against the open brickwork of a roaring fireplace. Designed with privacy and intimacy in mind, there are different “sections” in the bar where you can enjoy a nightcap in total peace. Liqueurs, beers, wines and cocktails are served along with soft drinks and fine coffees and teas. The Pool bar, meanwhile, is the ideal place to grab a light afternoon snack, perhaps some fresh fruit, whilst enjoying the shade next to the swimming pool.
Activities at the Mara Safari Club include game drives both long and short, walking safaris, birdwatching outings, balloon safaris and fishing excursions. Animals you're likely to see include zebras, cheetahs, wildebeest gazelles and the notorious “Big Five.” For something a little more relaxing, guests can simply take a dip in the heated outdoor swimming pool, or try a massage in a private massage tent.

Reviews & Testimonials of Mara Safari Club
"Heart warming and eye enthralling"
Management and staff were outstandingly friendly and helpful. Vincent more than accommodated our menu interests. Our driver, a local Masai, was extremely knowledgable of animals and local terrain.
The tent and beds were very comfortable. The weeklong experience exceeded the expectations of wife, myself and two small daughters. Even the swimming pool was a small but nice add-on. Plane connectons were also convenient. Had it not been exceptionally dry in late September, we would have seen even more animals in the area.
The only drawback was Fairmont central reservations in Europe and Nairobi which did not recognize my 20% discount guaranteed in advance.
Otherwise, the Fairmont Masai Mara is a must stay location for the Masai Mara.

"“Where everyone knows your name"
Wow what an amazing property and experience. The level of service at the Fairmont Safari Club is truly a step above, including the added touch of the staff knowing you by name – this includes the dining room serving staff, the front desk, and of course our personal safari driver. When we first booked, we were concerned 5 nights might be too much at just one property– but in reality, we were sad to leave and could have stayed on much longer.
The tents were well appointed and very comfortable. The comfort was enhanced with little extras like the turn down service that includes hot water bottles for the bed and wake up calls that come with your preferred hot beverage. The interaction between nature and resort is in perfect balance – with the monkey swinging in the trees outside our tent as the hippos splash around in the river below.
Part of the experience that made our trip memorable was our personal safari driver, John. He was an incredible guide and had an amazing amount of knowledge to share with us. Through his great efforts, we saw the Big 5 and a billion other things on our safari drives.
We are already talking about – “when we go back…”
