Il Moran

With just ten tents hidden away beneath ancient trees, lining the banks of the Mara River as it snakes through riverine forest of the Masai Mara, Il Moran offers prime game viewing right on your doorstep. This absolutely stunning camp is made for those who want even more luxury from their traditional bush-camping experience.

The small size of the camp (it was downsized some time ago in an attempt to reduce human impact on the surrounding area) means you will be attended to throughout your stay, yet your spacious and luxuriously furnished tent will mean you never feel crowded.  You will feel every inch the personal guest of Patrick, the camp manager.

Each of the huge tents feature Victorian style standing baths and super king-sized beds, carved beautifully from twisting olive trees.  Of course, each tent also boats full en suite bathroom facilities with twin basins and flush toilet, as well as private veranda and paraffin or gas lamp lighting for a soft and romantic feel.

Tea and coffee is served every morning in your tent as part of your wake up call, and all meals are served in the open bar and dining tent (which does, of course, offer its own stunning view over the Mara.)  Breakfast will include fresh fruit, cereals and hot bread, as well as a full English breakfast prepared fresh in front of you.  Lunch is a sumptuous buffet to sate the hungriest safari-goer, and dinner is a veritable cordon-bleu delight.

There are many activities on offer, including daily game drives in open 4x4 vehicles, game walks, or even a balloon safari.  If desired, you could even arrange a day drip to Lake Victoria.
