It's little wonder that Giraffe Manor comes so highly recommended from safari-goers. Surrounded by 140 acres of indigenous forest, this small and exclusive boutique hotel offers top-class accommodation with a personal touch, as well as a most unique African experience – the chance to breakfast with giraffes!

Built in the 1930s (and still retaining some of the old-style colonial charm), Giraffe Manor is one of Nairobi's most iconic buildings.  The most unique aspect of this establishment, however, has to be the herd of eleven giraffe which visit throughout the day, normally in search of a snack or treat!  These special Rothschild's giraffes became the focus of Jock and Betty Leslie-Melville, who moved into the manor in 1974, and whose life ambition it was to preserve this beautiful and endangered species.

Giraffe Manor offers spacious rooms with comfortable double beds protected by quality mosquito netting.  The décor remains stylish without compromising on the original, European-style design, so popular when the manor was built.  The high-ceilinged entrance hall with open fireplace will provide you with the warmest of welcomes, and it really is something to relax on a soft-cushioned chair whilst a giraffe peeps are you through the door or window!  The area immediately surrounding the property is also home to various bird species, families of dumpy warthogs and even the elusive bushbuck.

Accommodation at the Giraffe Manor is always offered on a full or half-board basis, with rates including house wines, beers, local spirits, soft drinks and bottled water.  You can dine either inside or outside, and breakfast is a particular delight as you shuffle along the table to make way for a giraffe's long neck.
