Reviews & Testimonials of Bushtops
"Pure Luxury in the Mara"
We spent two nights at Bushtops as part of our Honeymoon. This is the place to go if you are looking to be pampered by top of the line service. The tents are just as beautiful as the pictures posed and located on their website. The restaurant is truly 5 stars with excellent service, friendly staff and great food. It is also a special treat to have your breakfast watching baboons, zebra, gazelle and dikdiks licking salt. Our guide Ferdinand was amazing and we highly recommend him. We saw 3 of the big 5 but understand that it is very hard to find the rino and leopard. We did see a cheetah!
As for the location of the camp, we would say it is just ok. Since the camp is located on the hills you get an amazing view from your tent, however it takes a good 15 min just to get to the main road in order to enter the Mara (a good 30 min before you see a lot of game). One plus is that the camp is located near a Massai village which is a treat to visit.
One more thing to watch out for is that the only alcoholic drinks that are included is the local bear (no wine).
All in all, it is an amazing destination and we can't imagine anyone not having a great time.

"absolute perfection"
This was a truly luxurious experience, the like of which we didn't think existed for a safari trip. The "tents" are large and very comfortable and feel more like a hotel room than a tent. the views were exceptional, with wildlife constantly roaming past. the food was superb and the staff were fantastic.
A few reviews mentioned it is outside the park and this is true, but for us the other benefits outweighed this minor fact. The drivers were true guides, and a local masi accompanied you to track the animals, the vehicle was much better than the minbuses you see as it was open sided so you had uniterrupted views and no fighting over the window.
It could also go off road, whcih others couldn't, so when you saw a gaggle of little buses queued up on the path we could go right past them close to the animals. It may not now be true but I believe this was the only place to offer all day trips, meaning you could get right into the park, complete with fantastic packed lunch. On a side note, this is the only time we have booked a trip with Kouni and throughout the journey, Nairobi. Masi Mara and Malindi, they were great.
