Location: Diani Beach

Alfajiri Villas are located in Diani Beach, South Coast, one hour from Mombasa Airport with 10 daily scheduled flights from Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta and Wilson Airports. Alfajiri Villas overlook the Indian Ocean and theirs elevated positions ensure privacy and stunning views. African Style villas where the theme is high Makuti roofs, ivory Danish floors, wooden beams, Lamu doors and impressive African and Far Eastern decors. It is by many considered as the finest Villas on the East African Coast of Kenya.

Three villas offer a variety of accommodation options and are individually decorated in a bright and airy style. All bedrooms have bathrooms en suite and the stylish decor throughout the villa derives much of its character from being hand-crafted on the property. Large verandas with huge hand carved sofas with cushions dominate the front of the villas where a stretch swimming pool sits on the edge of a small cliff merging into the sea and the horizon.

Up to eight guests can be accommodated in the Cliff Villa in four ensuite bedrooms. Cliff Villa has a dining room, kitchen, lounge and a large, private verandah overlooking the Indian Ocean. All rooms are air-conditioned (except of the Beach Villa, which faces the seabreeze...) and with mosquito nets. The Garden Villa consists of four large air-conditioned luxurious double bedrooms, overlooking the Indian Ocean whilst the Beach Villa has two double bedrooms with their own bathrooms and two further rooms ideal for children. Both the Beach and Garden Villas have their own private verandahs, the ideal setting for dining.

Alfajiri Villas is owned and managed by a charming Italian couple, who help to create a fun and relaxed environment and the delightful staff of eighteen are highly professional, friendly and discreet.

"Honeymoon"

Alfajiri Villas is absolutely stunning. We stayed in the Beach Villa for 4 nights after a 7 day safari. It was perfection. The decor is so beautiful, and the attention to detail is unsurpassed. Fabrizio met with us every morning to discuss the menu, which always included the freshest catch of the day. The meals were delicious. Our butler Tsuma was wonderful and made our stay such a pleasure. While there are many activities to do, we spent our afternoons on the beach (accompanied by a guide from the Villa) and laying on the couches near the pool. The Beach Villa no longer shares a pool with the Garden Villa so if you are seeking privacy and romance you can find it here! I dream of this place all the time and truly hope that I can return to celebrate an anniversary.

"Just perfect..."

We spent 3 nights at Alfajiri's sister camp, Galdessa and then travelled down to Diani Beach for a 7 night stay at Alfajiri. The rand is not very strong against the dollar, so this was an expensive holiday for us. I can honestly say that it was worth every cent!

Walking onto the property, we felt like a huge weight had been lifted from our shoulders. It is light, airy, beautiful - exceptional design elements, stunning art works, extraordinary attention to detail, lush, superbly maintained garden - just perfect.

We then met Duncan, our room steward (funnily enough, our room steward at Galdessa was also called Duncan), who catered to our every need without us feeling like he was lurking... Fabrizio came down every morning to discuss the meals for the day (my favourite part) and Kazam, a young man with a special smile accompanied me on my long walks almost every day.

The only thing that I can say is that as brilliant as it was to be away from our children for a bit, I really missed them. They would've had an absolute ball at Alfajiri and it is probably one of the few upmarket places that is genuinely child-friendly.

We really hope to be able to go back one day... and sooner rather than later... Kenya is an extraordinary country and only enhanced by places like Galdessa and Alfajiri and people like Fabrizio and his family.
