
Shimba Hills National Park, Kenya
Shimba Hills National Park is only 33 kilometres from Mombasa and 15 kilometres from the coastline. It's landscape consists of wooded areas, grassland and coastal rainforest. Shimba Hills is an excellent place for spotting elephants, with over 700 of them in the park.
The national park is also home to over 80 rare species of plants, some of which are not found anywhere else in Kenya - the park boasts huge biodiversity. In addition to rare plants, it also has Kenya's only population of Sable Antelope.
